Victoria’s Home

If you had met Victoria a couple years ago, you would have met a vivacious, elegant, and warm young woman with a contagious smile. She was one of those people you hear of, who light up a room. She had just married Ryan, the love of her life.

Today, Victoria is largely bedridden, diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), which is commonly known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This is a devastating multi-system disease that causes dysfunction of the neurological, immune, endocrine and energy metabolism systems. It often follows an infection and leaves 75% of those affected unable to work and 25% of the homebound are bedridden. Victoria is part of that 25%.

If you’d like to better understand Victoria’s condition, you can find more about it here – https://www.unrest.film/about-me, or watch the documentary “Unrest,” which you can find on Amazon Prime or YouTube.

ME is just part of the story of the recent past to the present. ME is just the diagnosis. It is not who Victoria was, or is, or will be. She’s improving and the prognosis is good. Victoria is writing the story of her future, coauthoring it with those who love and care for her. We are looking for some compassionate and competent caregivers to join our team, to be part of Victoria’s recovery, and to help her write the story of her future.

Because of the need for 24/7 care, we have multiple shifts available, ranging from 20-40 hours per week. Depending on availability of applicants, that could mean full-time or part-time, day shift, evening shift, weekend shift, 10 hour shifts or something similar.

Pay for this position is $20-$25 depending on experience.

Please note – We use a multi-step process that can involve this application process, a video interview, some exercises to complete, and a phone interview, all based on qualifications and experience. None of these steps take hours to do and in fact, some are pretty quick. The multiple interactions may help both you and us figure out if this is the best fit and use of your skills and time. Thanks for looking into this opportunity to help Victoria.
